Uche Osuji has 20 years of corporate finance investment and advisory experience across consumer product, real estate, technology, and manufacturing industries. He has direct experience leading projects that support equity and inclusion in underserved municipalities across the US. He has served as Partner, Board Member, Portfolio Manager, and Operations Manager.
Mr. Osuji is currently a Managing Director at Arctaris Impact Investors, a privately held investment firm that invests in growth oriented operating businesses and infrastructure projects located in underserved communities. Mr. Osuji has underwritten and/or invested community-based investments for over 8 years. He is a proven team leader and portfolio manager and is involved in business development and managing relationships with bankers, investors, and local governments. Post-investment, Mr. Osuji fulfills an advisory role to CEOs and management teams including regular dialogue and strategy sessions. Mr. Osuji currently sits on the Board of Directors in an advisory role for CEI Ventures, Inc., Norwich Technologies, Recaro Automotive, and Specialized Construction, Incorporated.
Prior to Arctaris, Mr. Osuji worked in finance for 13 years with financial institutions that include Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., The Royal Bank of Scotland, and Bear Stearns. He held various positions in relationship management, corporate credit, and portfolio management. At The Royal Bank of Scotland, he managed a credit portfolio with over $2.0 Billion of committed bank capital to customers in the consumer, industrial, and manufacturing industries. Mr. Osuji led the underwriting of over $15.0 Billion in Joint Lead Arranger M&A Financings at RBS. Additionally, Mr. Osuji co-led for several years the bank’s recruitment and retention program for analysts focused on equity and inclusion.
Prior to working in finance, Mr. Osuji was an operations manager with Procter & Gamble. There he improved the efficiency of the manufacturing process, worked to increase the productivity rates and ultimately led a multifunctional team comprised of product research, finance, product development, process engineering and product supply representatives to deliver a quality project that improved the product’s functionality and addressed a customer issue.
He has served in civic and volunteer leadership roles, including currently sitting on Duke University’s Alumni Association Board, Alumni Council of Phillips Andover Academy and the Fuqua school, and co-manager of a non-profit soup kitchen in the East Village of New York City.
He holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. Uche, Maggie (wife), and Miles (son) reside in New York City.
